12. Additional Optional Features

MediaWorks EXP has optional features that are off by default.

They are enabled via the Recorder settings on the front panel or via Configuration Manager, on the Users and Security: System Security page.

The features:

  • Incident Clip Management

  • User Content Uploads

  • Terms of Service Splash Screen

  • Media Access Blocking

  • Air Traffic Control / Air Traffic Management Mode

12.1. Incident Clip Management

Incident Clip Management allows users making incidents to join or split audio calls in an incident so that the calls are played back correctly. The original call records remain on the recorder in their as-recorded state.

More details and usage information can be found in Section 4.8: Incident Clip Management.

12.2. User Content Uploads

User Content Uploads allows a user to upload media to a NexLog Express recorder channel, and use that media for incidents, evaluations, or general playback.

See Section {number}: {name}

12.3. Terms of Service Splash Screen

A custom Terms of Service splash screen can be shown at login time for all users by checking the Enable Terms Of Service splash screen in MediaWorks DX clients (edit contents in System → Configuration Files → Terms of Service Display) box on this page. To configure the text for this, navigate to System → Configuration Files and edit the file named Terms of Service.

12.4. Interleaved Mode

MediaWorks EXP now offers the ability to differentiate between multiple streams on a VoIP recorder and visualize multiple voicings on the Timeline View.

Interleaved Call Mode

The Example above shows two streams of dialog on one channel, with each voice represented by different shades of color.

Note

Interleaved Call Mode requires an additional VoIP add-on service. See your Eventide Rep for more information.

12.4.1. Interleaved Mode Configuration

In order to enable Interleaved Call Mode, a user must refer to their NexLog Express configurations –> Recording –> Recording Interfaces and update the template details for “Stream Recording Mixing Mode”. The “Keep Separate” setting will enable Interleaved Mode.

Interleaved Mode Configuration

To activate Interleaved Mode for certain channels, you need to adjust the settings in the IP Recording system. Specifically, go to the “Encoding” settings and select “Mulaw Separate Streams” from the dropdown options available. You can find these options either directly within the “Encoding” dropdown menu or by navigating to the Settings Section and then selecting the “Audio Storage Encoding” dropdown.
